Finding The Car Park

Bedord Lawn Car Park
This car park may be found on the sea front in Sidmouth.

Coming in to the town the easiest way to find it is, at the top of the high street at the mini roundabout just after the cinema turn right.

At the end of this road turn left (B3176), again at a mini roundabout, and the car park may be found at the end of the road just after the bus "Triangle" and before the T-Junction.

How much does it cost to park here

Bedord Lawn Car Park Prices
The charge is £2.00 for the first hour.

If staying up to 2 hours the charge is £3.50

Thereafter the charge is £1 per hour of your stay up to 6 hours.

See the image for longer stays.

The charge to park here is slightly higher than the East Devon Council Car Parks.

No fines issued, no cars clamped.

If you over stay you just pay for the extra time on exit at the rate of £2 for the first hour over staying, thereafter £1 per hour. By example pay for two hours and end up staying five and the total charge to park would be £7.50, so in effect a £1 "penalty" for overstaying. (£3.50 paid on entrance, £4 excess on exit.)

You must return your ticket to the gatekeeper on exit

more information

The car park is open 24 hours and there is no height restriction or barriers.

The car park is manned from early morning until late evening. If you enter before staff arrive you just pay the gatekeeper on exit.

If you park in here when no staff are present both in and out then no charge or fine is levied.

The car park has been privately owned by the same family since around 1920.

There are certain spaces that show as reserved, if they are the only places available then park there and check it is OK with the gatekeeper.

Staying overnight in your vehicle or camper is not permitted.

Getting to the town centre from here

If it is the beach area you are after then this car park is right on the front.

If you want the main shopping area you can either walk to the sea front and turn left and left again near the pub "Dukes" or you can walk up to the bus triangle and turn right there and then right again at the T Junction with Church Street, passing the church on your left as you go in to town.

In both cases the walk if a little over five minutes.

The above are for foot access only. Large parts of Sidmouth town centre are available on foot only.
